Dr. Christopher Bourke is a foot and ankle surgeon dedicated to helping patients stay active, healthy, and moving without pain.
Having practiced in Northern Virginia for the past seven years, he is excited to continue serving the community and bring his specialized expertise to patients throughout Loudoun County. Whether your goal is to return to competitive sports, go for a daily run, stay active with family, or simply walk comfortably, Dr. Bourke focuses on creating a personalized path back to the activities you love.
His approach to care is deeply shaped by his background as a lifelong runner. A former Division I cross country athlete at the University of Delaware, Dr. Bourke continues to run competitively today and holds a marathon personal best of 2:24. Having navigated athletic training firsthand, he understands the frustration of an injury and the importance of a clear, efficient recovery plan.
Dr. Bourke completed a rigorous four-year surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by advanced fellowship training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and trauma at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation in Silicon Valley. His extensive training covers complex foot and ankle reconstruction, sports injuries, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and total ankle replacements.
Believing that medical care should always be tailored to the individual, Dr. Bourke takes the time to listen to each patient’s personal goals. Together, he collaborates with patients to design comprehensive treatment plans—prioritizing non-surgical therapies and rehabilitation whenever possible, and utilizing advanced surgical procedures when necessary.
Outside the office, Dr. Bourke enjoys spending time outdoors and with his wife and young daughter. He applies the same mindset to patient care that drives his running: set a goal, build a plan, and work together to cross the finish line.
